Lloret de Mar Drone Show Festival closes its third edition with more than 150,000 spectators

The Lloret de Mar Drone Show Festival held this past weekend attracted more people than ever before. More than 150,000 spectators attended the three shows scheduled during the festival organised by Lloret de Mar Town Council and the Catalan company Flock Drone Art with the support of Girona Provincial Council

The third edition of the Drone Show Festival has closed with a great success of attendance. Over the course of three days, more than 150,000 spectators watched the three drone shows on the programme, a figure that triples the attendance figures of the first two editions.

In this third edition, the festival has strengthened its international character and for the first time has welcomed companies specialising in drone shows from three different countries. Specifically, production companies from Spain, Portugal and France offered their artistic proposals in the skies above Lloret de Mar. The three scheduled shows had a common theme and, from different perspectives and sensibilities, offered proposals related to nature and the need to preserve our planet.

The Drone Show Festival is the only event in the world that brings together drone shows from companies from different countries. The organisers’ aim is to consolidate its position as the international festival of reference in this artistic modality and to structure a unique, sustainable event with great added value.

The Mayor of Lloret de Mar, Adrià Lamelas, said that “over the three days there was a large number of people who came to enjoy this drone show, which this year has taken an exponential leap forward with twice as many drones and the incorporation of international companies from Catalonia, France and Portugal”. The Mayor added that “the Lloret Drone Festival positions Lloret de Mar as a benchmark in southern Europe in this emerging industry, with high added value in technological and environmental terms”.

The Drone Show Festival improves and diversifies the tourist and cultural offer of the cities that host this international event. The festival has expanded its venues this year with the incorporation of Gijón, where three shows from different companies from Spain, the United States and the Netherlands were also programmed at the beginning of the month.
