The third edition of the Lloret de Mar Drone Show Festival comes packed with novelties. The Mayor of Lloret, Adrià Lamelas, the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Nino Goméz, and the Deputy Mayor, Frederich Guich, today presented the official poster for 2023, which this year reinforces its international character and for the first time will host companies specialising in drone shows from Catalonia, France and Portugal. The Drone Show Festival is currently the only event in the world that brings together artistic proposals with drones from companies in different countries. The organisers’ aim is to consolidate its position as the international festival of reference in this artistic modality and to structure a unique, sustainable event with great added value.
Another of the main novelties of this year’s edition is the increase in the number of drones that will participate in each show. In total, two hundred drones will fly together during each artistic proposal, doubling the number of drones from last year. This increase will improve the spectacularity and complexity of the figures that can be seen in the sky over Lloret de Mar during the festival.
The three shows have a common theme and, from different points of view and sensibilities, offer proposals related to nature and the need to preserve our planet.
The Drone Show Festival will open on Friday 28 July at 10.30 p.m. with the company Flock Drone Art presenting the show Eco 200, a luminous allegory of nature, a cry for respect for the environment that aims to highlight environmental awareness and the need to preserve the world we live in. Figures of whales, ancient trees, bees, legendary birds and giant flowers will show the Earth’s biodiversity.
The following day, 29 July, at 10.30 p.m., the Portuguese company Drone Show Animations will be performing Deep Love. The show takes us on a love story, the love of humanity for the oceans and their fascinating and wonderful creatures. Beings from different depths will show the rich biodiversity of a blue planet that we love and must preserve.
The French company Diffuse will close the third edition of the festival on 30 July at 10.30 p.m. with its show Quest of Light, directed by its artistic director, Vincent Bauer, and with music by the composer Titouan Malivoir. The show will plunge the audience into the dark depths of the oceans on a journey to the surface with the aim of finding the light again.
Internationally renowned competition
Thanks to the convening power of these shows, the Drone Show Festival was born with an international vocation and with the aim of becoming the world’s leading event in the sector. In this third edition of the festival, this potential is consolidated with the participation of companies from different countries.
Its organising company, Flock Drone Art, belongs to the international community of drone show production companies and is an active partner of the International Drone Show Competition, which this year has created a new nomination for its competition in which the main prize is participation in the Drone Show Festival. With the support of Flock Drone Art, the winners of the category “Best Drone Show Animation” have created an extraordinary performance that will mesmerise the audience with its impressive fleet. The collaboration between the Drone Show Competition and the Flock Drone Art Drone Festival brings together the best representatives of the drone show industry, showcasing magnificent drone shows and drone lighting projects around the world.
The Drone Show Festival has expanded its venues this year with the addition of Gijón, which this past weekend also offered three shows from different companies from Spain, the United States and the Netherlands.
