Lloret de Mar launches a new tourist information service provided through the WhatsApp messaging platform

The service is provided in at least four languages on 618 263 898

A new visitor information service provided by Lloret Turisme through the WhatsApp messaging platform has begun operating this morning and is available on the mobile phone number 618 263 898.

Having been tested over the last few weeks, the service has been officially launched today. Visitors’ queries will be answered in at least four languages: Catalan, Spanish, English and French.

The operating hours of the service are from 10 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm all year round.

The tourist offices of Lloret de Mar, along with tourist attractions such as the Maritime Museum, Can Saragossa or the modernist cemetery, are displaying a poster informing visitors of the new service and explaining how to contact the tourist offices. Information on the service will also be provided in all the publications produced by Lloret Turisme, including the official map of the destination.

Furthermore, the tourism sector of Lloret de Mar will be informed of the new service so that receptionists and other tourism professionals in direct contact with visitors can recommend the service and find answers to their own queries.

According to Elizabeth Keegan, Director of Lloret Turisme, “This service brings us closer to our visitors and provides them with a straightforward and instant way to obtain answers to their queries. We guarantee that we’ll answer them immediately in the four languages spoken by the entire Lloret Turisme visitor information team (Catalan, Spanish, English and French), and we’ll also answer in other languages such as Russian and French depending on the availability of the team members”.

Lloret Turisme is the tourism promotion body of Lloret de Mar and runs the city’s three tourist offices, located on Avinguda de les Alegries, at the Maritime Museum and at the bus station, along with the tourist information point open throughout July and August at Fenals Beach. More than 100,000 people visited the offices in 2016.
