Lloret de Mar once again hosts the MontPhoto Festival, an international benchmark for nature photography, and reaffirms its commitment to sustainability

The MontPhoto international nature photography competition received more than 11,000 photos from 1,000 participants. By country, Spain, Italy, China and Germany contributed the most entries to the competition.

The winners of the competition will be announced during the MontPhoto International Festival to be held between 6 and 8 October 2023 in Lloret del Mar.

Among the speakers already announced for the 2023 MontPhoto Festival are Milos Prelevic, committed and passionate Serbian underwater photographer; Isabel Diez San Vicente, renowned and unique artist photographer; Anna Surinyach, independent human rights photojournalist; and Evelyn Segura, high-profile nature conservation communicator.

From 6 to 8 October Lloret de Mar will once again host the Montphoto Festival, consolidating its commitment to sustainability and the preservation of nature through this event that has become an international benchmark for nature photography. For its 2023 edition, the MontPhoto international nature photography competition has received more than 11,000 photos taken by the more than one thousand participants who entered the competition.

Participants from all over the world maintain the growing internationalisation of a project that is becoming increasingly popular and diverse worldwide.

By country, in fact, behind Spain, with less than 40% participation, are Italy, China, Germany and the United States, followed by other European countries such as the United Kingdom, France and Hungary.

The winners of the competition will be announced during the 27th edition of the MontPhoto International Festival, which will be held, as every year, in the town of Lloret del Mar. As a major novelty, the festival will now be held entirely in mixed format: online and in person.

Among the speakers already announced for this edition of the festival are Milos Prelevic, committed and passionate Serbian underwater photographer; Isabel Díez San Vicente, renowned and unique artist photographer and member of the MontPhoto Community; Anna Surinyach, independent human rights photojournalist and editor of the magazine 5W; and Evelyn Segura, a communicator with great media impact in the field of nature conservation.

In addition, as part of MontPhoto’s environmental commitment, during the festival you will be able to visit exhibitions on environmental education and a sound exhibition of one of the best nature sound sources in our country.

For the photography competition, the honorary winner will receive a cash prize of 2,000 euros and a diploma, while the winner in each of the 10 categories will receive 500 euros and a diploma. In addition, during the MontPhoto festival, the work of the selected entries will be presented in the Changing Planet programme.
