Guided tour: Route of the Indianos + Can Font
The Route immerses the visitor in the legacy of the Indianos, those emigrants who made their fortune in America and returned to their homeland to build impressive houses. The Route of the Indianos is like a journey through time, allowing you to explore these magnificent buildings that tell stories of dreams and achievement.
The route includes a stroll through the city centre, past the Jacint Verdaguer promenade, the Town Hall, the church of Sant Romà and finally the Can Font Indiano house and museum. The latter is one of the few modernist municipal houses still open to the public, where you can discover how the wealthiest societies of the time lived, with original furniture and exquisite decorations.
The visits take place every Saturday at 10 am and last about an hour and a half. They start at the Maritime Museum.
Guided tour of Sant Joan Castle and the southern coastal path
For lovers of history and nature, the guided tour of the Sant Joan Castle offers a glimpse of Lloret’s medieval past. From its walls, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the coastline while learning about the strategic importance of this fortress over the centuries. The origins of the castle are also the origins of the town of Lloret.
The route continues along the southern coastal path, one of the most beautiful on the Costa Brava, with a sea and mountain route along the coast of Lloret. It is a route along paths and through pine and holm oak woods, where you can enjoy the natural landscape, passing by the monument to Dona Marinera, Cala Banys and the castle.
The visits take place every Sunday at 10 a.m. and last about two hours. Please note that the path is not adapted and there are some steps.
Guided tour of the Santa Clotilde Gardens
This space is one of Lloret’s treasures, an oasis of peace and tranquillity, with gardens inspired by the Italian Renaissance, located on a cliff overlooking the sea, between Cala Boadella and Fenals beach. Its location turns the surrounding Mediterranean into a large balcony overlooking the sea.
During the visit you will discover how the Marquis of Roviralta commissioned the project for the gardens in 1919 to a young landscape designer and architect, Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí. The Santa Clotilde Gardens, which are part of the European Route of Historic Gardens of the Council of Europe, were also a great filming location for some scenes in the series House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones.
This special visit takes place only on the first Sunday in May at 12 noon and lasts one and a half hours.
