Lloret de Mar

Lloret Turisme participates in the “Turisme per tothom” programme of the Catalan Tourism Agency and is also a member of the ENAT European Network for Accesible Tourism, an association whose goal is to foster accessible tourism throughout Europe.

Lloret de Mar Town Council currently devotes around €100,000 per year to its Mobility Plan and to the adaptation of beaches and coves. The actions carried out in this respect are listed in detail below:

 

ADAPTED BEACHES

The two beaches, Lloret and Fenals, are equipped with several services for persons with reduced mobility:

  • Adaptation of pedestrian crossings, with the incorporation of curb ramps with a gradient of less than 12% cut into the pavement
  • Placement of beach access ramps
  • Placement of wooden and plastic walkways to reach the showers and the sea
  • Adapted toilets
  • Adapted showers
  • Installation of lifelines
  • Bathing service for persons with reduced mobility using an amphibian chair
  • Reserved shady area
  • Adapted changing room
  • Obligation for all beach bars and restaurants to be accessible for persons of reduced mobility
  • Design of the new tickets booths for boat cruises with adapted counters
  • Adaptation of the children’s park on Lloret beach with the creation of a walkway across the play area

 

CULTURAL FACILITIES

The Maritime Museum, the Modernist Cemetery and the Can Saragossa building are fully adapted for persons of reduced mobility. There is also a Braille guide available at the Maritime Museum. In Santa Clotilde Gardens there are accessible routes suitable for electric scooters. The Castle of Sant Joan and the Iberian settlements present challenges in terms of accessibility due to their elevated and rocky locations.

SPORTS FACILITIES

Lloret de Mar has a wide range of sports facilities located within convenient distance of the town’s tourist accommodation facilities. The new Pompeu Fabra sports centre and the nearby Olympic-size swimming pool both have adapted showers and toilets. The depth of the swimming pool can be adjusted thanks to its mobile floor, making it ideal for persons of reduced mobility. .

Accommodation: Lloret de Mar has 13 hotels in the 4 and 5-star categories with adapted rooms for persons of reduced mobility.

Restaurants:Lloret de Mar boasts 21 restaurants adapted for persons of reduced mobility. They offer a wide range of cuisine (traditional, international and signature cuisine) and cater for all budgets.

Leisure: There are a series of accessible routes for getting around Lloret de Mar comfortably. The leisure offering in Lloret de Mar includes nautical activities adapted for persons of reduced mobility, such as jet ski trips and parasailing.. There are also several shops and discotheques with ramps etc. that have been adapted to ensure accessibility.
