Lloret de Mar in September: summer continues with sea, culture and unique experiences

In September, this Costa Brava town offers a programme packed with experiences that combine beach, wellbeing, nature and cultural events such as the “Lloret Drone Festival” drone show.

Summer in Lloret de Mar does not end in August. The Costa Brava municipality has established itself as the perfect destination for those who want to extend the summer season, thanks to its mild climate, less crowded beaches and a full calendar of activities that invite visitors to discover the essence of the Mediterranean at a different pace.

“September is one of the best times to enjoy Lloret. The temperature is still ideal, the spaces are calmer and the cultural and sporting calendar remains vibrant,” says Elizabeth Keegan, manager of Lloret Turisme.

Lloret Drone Festival

On 12 and 13 September, Lloret beach will host the Lloret Drone Festival, an event that brings together art and technology in a privileged setting.

Starting at 9 pm on Lloret beach, 300 drones (100 more than last year) will light up the sky with spectacular figures accompanied by music, transforming the promenade into a unique stage facing the sea. It is an immersive, sustainable and surprising experience that reinforces the municipality’s commitment to innovative cultural proposals that are highly attractive to tourists.

Quiet beaches, last swims of the season and terraces by the sea

In September, Lloret’s beaches become the perfect place to bid a peaceful farewell to summer. Swimming in crystal-clear waters at the idyllic Cala Boadella, snorkelling at Cala Canyelles or toasting the sunset on the terraces of Passeig Jacint Verdaguer with its reddish sand flanked by palm trees are just some of the most irresistible options.

The coastal paths, which run along the coast between cliffs and pine forests, offer spectacular panoramic views and the opportunity to connect with nature.

Well-being and connection with nature

September is also ideal for those looking to disconnect and take care of themselves. Lloret de Mar offers a range of activities that combine holidays with self-care: from yoga sessions facing the sea on Fenals beach to guided tours of the town’s natural and cultural heritage. Authentic experiences that invite you to experience Lloret de Mar with all five senses.

Beach Walk: 28 September

Sport continues to play a prominent role with events such as the Beach Walk (28 September), a unique route along the coastal paths that border the beaches and coves of Lloret de Mar, starting at Cala Sa Caleta and ending at Santa Cristina Beach with a sardine barbecue. This popular 11-kilometre walk is a unique way to admire the coastline from land and to highlight Lloret’s relationship with sport and the marine environment.

A destination committed to deseasonalisation

With this programme, Lloret de Mar shows that September is much more than just the “end of the season”: it is an opportunity to enjoy the destination in a more mindful way, maintaining the Mediterranean intensity but with a more relaxed atmosphere.
