Lloret de Mar launches a new website to promote its strategic events

The platform becomes a positioning tool that highlights visitor-drawing events, open to the general public and linked to the territory through sport, culture and leisure.

Lloret de Mar has launched a new digital events platform, events.lloretdemar.org, conceived as a strategic tool to reinforce the destination’s positioning, showcase events with visitor appeal throughout the year, and consolidate Lloret de Mar as a vibrant and dynamic destination all year round.

This new tool responds to a long-standing demand from the local tourism sector, which had been calling for a centralised digital space to optimise the marketing of the destination through its offering of events with visitor appeal.

The new website is not an exhaustive events calendar, but a showcase of the destination’s most relevant and flagship events: offerings open to the general public that contribute to projecting the identity of Lloret de Mar, generating economic activity and reinforcing its connection with its landscape and urban environment.

The platform centralises the main events held in the municipality in a single space, with information designed for both residents and visitors, available in four languages. This reinforces a stable programme that helps keep Lloret de Mar active all year round.

In addition to the featured events, the website includes direct links at the bottom of the page to the destination’s general calendar, the annual programme for the Teatre de Lloret, and the guided tours organised by the Cultural Heritage section of Lloret Town Council.

In the words of the Councillor for Tourism, Cristina Aymerich, “The initiative is part of the strategy to diversify tourism and revitalise the town, especially during the low and mid-season, and to strengthen the cultural offering during the summer months.”

A key tool for destagionalisation

Lloret de Mar has an events calendar that combines culture, tradition, sport and leisure, and which plays a fundamental role in the strategy for tourist destagionalisation.

Among the highlights available on the new platform is the Rally Lloret de Mar, which takes place from 6 to 8 February, attracting participants and a specialised audience in the motor world in the middle of the low season; as well as the Lloret de Mar Carnival, which takes place from 14 to 15 February and is part of the Costa Brava Sud Carnival, with parades, popular activities and high levels of citizen participation in the various floats.

Among the platform’s key pillars, sporting events play a significant role, contributing to strengthening Lloret de Mar’s connection with its natural environment through healthy habits such as sport, and showcasing a diverse and authentic image of the destination.

An example is the Night Trail Lloret, a race held in June that takes place at night through iconic locations such as the coastal path. These types of events help to break away from the high-volume image traditionally associated with summer and project an active, sporty Lloret, integrated into the landscape, capable of offering unique experiences even during the peak tourist months.

Culture, the centrepiece of the summer programme

During the summer months, especially between June and September, the events programme places a special emphasis on culture, with festivals, concerts, performances and outdoor activities taking place in various venues around the town. This cultural offering complements traditional tourism and helps to segment the audiences and experiences that Lloret de Mar offers during the high season.

As a new feature, the new website will also feature the cultural programme for the recently inaugurated Amphitheatre of the Santa Clotilde Gardens, designed to host intimate and unique musical and theatrical performances.

Autumn and winter: continuous activity

The annual calendar is rounded off with autumn offerings, such as the Lloret Drone Festival, a large-scale spectacle on Lloret Beach that fuses art and technology into a unique experience.
