The Mayor of Blanes, Jordi Hernández, the Mayor of Tossa, Martí Pujals, and the Councillor for Culture and Festivities of Lloret, Vereda López, have today presented the poster and programme for the Costa Brava Sud Carnival 2026 at the new amphitheatre in the Santa Clotilde Gardens. They were accompanied by the Councillor for Youth of Blanes, Estefanía Romero (Blanes), and the Councillor for Culture, Heritage, Festivities and Traditions, Anna Abellán (Tossa).
This 2026, the Costa Brava South Carnival will take place from 12 to 28 February, and it is expected that – as has become customary – it will bring together more than 125,000 people who will come to Blanes, Lloret and Tossa to enjoy the respective parades held during these days.
Lloret de Mar will be the first town to host the Grand Carnival Parade, specifically on Saturday 14 February at 4.30 p.m.; The following day, Sunday 15th February, Lloret de Mar hosts the parade again at 12 noon and, in the afternoon, it will be Blanes’ turn, where the Parade of Floats and Costume Groups will begin at 5 p.m. Finally, Tossa de Mar will host the Great Carnival Hangover Parade on Saturday, 28th March at 4.30 p.m.
The Costa Brava South Carnival was born in 2012 from the desire of these three coastal towns to jointly promote their Carnival parades, and it is now a flagship event on the Costa Brava.
Lloret de Mar opens the Great Carnival Parade
Lloret de Mar will get into the festive spirit to kick off the Grand Carnival Parade at 16:30 on Saturday, 14 February, which will feature around forty floats and dance troupes, parading along the entire Marítim Promenade, Just Marlés Avenue and will finish on Rieral Avenue. A great Carnival Parade that can be enjoyed again the next day, Sunday, at 12 noon, with the same route.
As a new feature, on Saturday 14 February the first Carnival Karaoke will be held at 7.30 pm in the municipal sports pavilion and, at 11 pm in Plaça de la Vila, there will be a concert by DJ Xirgo, with a bar serving drinks and sandwiches.
To see off Carnival, the Entombment of the Sardine will take place on Wednesday 18 February at 7 pm. The procession will set off from the Plaça dels Germans Maristes and will finish at Plaça de la Vila with the traditional chickpea and fish supper, hosted by the Xino-Xano association.
In Blanes, Carnival 2026 will be for the whole family and young people.
In the municipality where the Costa Brava begins, the carnival events will kick off on the evening of Friday 28 February with the Carnival Party organised by the Local Youth Council. At 7.45 pm, Carnival will arrive with the band Band The Marxa, in a procession that will run from the rock of Sa Palomera to the Plaça dels Dies Feiners.
It is here that there will be musical entertainment until the early hours; first with a DJ, then with La Nit del Canet and finally with DJ KZU.
The fun will continue the next day, Saturday, aimed at a children’s, youth and family audience. From 5 pm, everyone is invited to the Dies Feiners Square to take part in creative workshops, a party especially for the little ones, bouncy castles and a fancy dress competition.
The band Ai, Carai!! will be in charge of entertaining the evening, followed by the parade of participants in the fancy dress competition, which will conclude with the judges’ verdict and prize-giving.
In Blanes, the carnival festive cycle will conclude on Sunday, 2 March, with the most participatory event of all: the Carnival Parade, which will wind its way through the town’s main streets. Hundreds of people will flood the town’s streets to catch every detail of the spectacular floats and performances that will be on display.
The parade will consist of 23 floats and 13 dance troupes from both Blanes and various other towns across the region: some nearby, others more distant. It will start at 5 p.m. from the upper part of Joaquim Ruyra Rambla, proceeding to Solidaritat Square, where it will turn to continue along the lower part of the Rambla, Catalunya Square, the Marina Promenade and the Countries of Catalonia Square, where it will finish.
During the celebration, the Carnival Float and Parade Contest will be held, with prizes for different categories for both local and out-of-town participants, awarded by a jury. The presentation of the various prizes provided by the contest will take place a few days after the parade has been held.
