Guided Tour: Indiana Route + Can Font
The route immerses visitors in the legacy of the Indianos, those emigrants who made their fortune in America and returned to their homeland to build impressive mansions that today adorn Lloret. The Indiana Route is like a journey through time, allowing you to explore these splendid buildings that tell stories of dreams and successes.
The tour includes a stroll through the city centre passing by the Passeig Jacint Verdaguer, the Town Hall, the church of Sant Romà and, finally, entering the Casa Museu de Can Font. The latter is one of the few remaining municipal modernist houses open to the public, where you will discover how the wealthiest societies of the time lived, with their original furnishings and exquisite decorations.
The visits take place every Saturday at 10 a.m. and last approximately one and a half hours. The meeting point is the Maritime Museum.
Guided Visit to Sant Joan Castle and the southern coastal path
For history and nature lovers, the guided tour of Sant Joan Castle offers an immersion into Lloret’s medieval past. From its walls, visitors enjoy panoramic views of the coastline, while learning about the strategic importance of this fortress over the centuries. The origins of the castle are also the origins of the town of Lloret.
The walk continues along the southern coastal path, one of the most beautiful you can do on the Costa Brava, with a sea and mountain route along the coast of Lloret de Mar. It is a route along paths and through pine and holm oak woods that allows you to enjoy the natural landscape, passing by the monument to the Seafaring Woman, Cala Banys until you reach the castle.
Visits take place every Sunday at 10 a.m. and last approximately two hours. It should be noted that the path is not adapted, as there are some sections with stairs.
Guided tour in Santa Clotilde Gardens
This is one of Lloret’s treasures and an oasis of calm. The Italian Renaissance-inspired gardens are located on a cliff overlooking the sea, between Cala Boadella and Fenals beach. The location of the gardens makes the surrounding Mediterranean Sea a great balcony overlooking the sea.
During the visit you will discover how the Marquis of Roviralta commissioned the project for the gardens in 1919 to a young landscape designer and architect, Nicolau Maria Rubió i Tudurí. The Santa Clotilde Gardens, which are part of the European Route of Historic Gardens of the Council of Europe, were also a great film set for the filming of some scenes of the series The House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones.
This special visit only takes place on the first Sunday in May at 12 noon and lasts one and a half hour.
